Updated SSC and HSSC Result Grading System
The exam department of the SBA Board has now officially announced a new grading formula that will be applied to upcoming exams. According to the board, this updated grading policy will first be implemented for the SSC and HSSC Part-I First Annual Exams in 2026. Later on, the same grading structure will also be applied to the SSC and HSSC Part-II First Annual Exams starting from the year 2027. This initiative aims to provide a clearer and more standardized way of evaluating students’ academic performance.

Under the newly introduced grading formula, students who achieve the highest level of academic performance will receive the grade A++, which is awarded to those securing marks between 96 percent and 100 percent. This category is described as “Extraordinary” and represents the top level of achievement. The next grade, A+, will be given to students who obtain marks between 91 percent and 95 percent, and this performance level is labeled as “Exceptional.” Students scoring between 86 percent and 90 percent will receive the grade A, which reflects an “Outstanding” level of achievement.

The grading scale continues with B++ for students who secure marks between 81 percent and 85 percent, indicating an “Excellent” performance. Candidates obtaining marks between 76 percent and 80 percent will be awarded grade B+, which is categorized as “Very Good.” Meanwhile, those who achieve marks from 71 percent to 75 percent will receive grade B, reflecting a “Good” level of academic performance.

Students scoring between 61 percent and 70 percent will fall under the grade C+, which represents a “Fairly Good” performance. Those with marks ranging from 51 percent to 60 percent will be placed in grade C and described as “Above Average.” For students who obtain marks between 40 percent and 50 percent, the grade D will be assigned, which indicates an “Emerging” level of performance.

However, students who secure less than 40 percent marks will be placed in the U category, which means “Ungraded.” This indicates that the student has not achieved the minimum required level of performance according to the board’s standards.

With the introduction of this updated grading formula, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Shaheed Benazirabad aims to create a more transparent and comprehensive evaluation system for students appearing in matric and intermediate exams in the coming years.
