Private schools across Punjab have appealed to the provincial government for permission to organize summer camps during the upcoming summer holidays in order to compensate for academic losses experienced by students. Schools Propose Morning Classes During Vacations to Cover Academic Delays
According to private school owners, educational activities were disrupted due to unexpected holidays in schools throughout the province, affecting students’ learning and syllabus coverage. They believe summer camps would help students recover missed lessons and maintain academic continuity.
Representatives of private schools suggested that the camps should operate during early morning hours, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, to protect students from intense summer temperatures.
School administrations stated that interruptions in regular classroom teaching had slowed academic progress and created challenges in completing course outlines on time. Education experts from the private sector added that these camps could help students strengthen their preparation before the beginning of the next academic year.
Sources within the Punjab School Education Department revealed that private institutions are generally allowed to conduct one-month summer camps each year. However, officials said that final approval for this year’s camps will be granted only after receiving clearance from the Punjab Chief Minister.
