KPEF Announces Merit-Cum-Inaffordability Scholarship Scheme 2025-26

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Foundation KPEF has announced applications for the “Merit-Cum-Inaffordability” Scholarship Scheme 2025-26. This initiative aims to support freshly enrolled students of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa pursuing higher education, with a special focus on orphans, children of Shuhada, physically disabled students, and families entitled to Zakat.

About KPEF

Established in 1992 as a corporate body under an Act of the KP Provincial Assembly, KPEF’s primary mission is the promotion and development of higher education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The foundation provides financial support to students, facilitates teacher training, encourages skill development, and implements other measures to uplift the education sector.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following conditions to be considered for the scholarship:

Academic Excellence: Students must have scored at least 70% marks in their last examination or a 3.00

CGPA in each semester. For arts-focused programs, selection will also consider merit and aptitude tests.

Residency: Applicants must hold a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa domicile, including the newly merged districts or Ex-FATA.

Admission Status: Students must have secured admission in a KPEF-approved educational institution within Pakistan and be enrolled in the first year of BS or MS programs.

Financial Requirement: Parents or guardians should have a monthly income not exceeding PKR 160,000.

Scholarship Scope: Scholarships are available for first-year students in the fields of Emerging Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Management Sciences, Health Sciences, General Sciences, and Arts & Humanities.

Exclusivity: Students already availing any fully funded Scholarship are not eligible.

Selection Process

Scholarships will be processed through an online digital auto-merit mechanism.

Only the top 10 students per slot will be called for interviews. No paper or direct applications will be entertained.

Interviews will be conducted on-campus by scholarship disbursement committees.

Scholarships will be awarded equally to male and female students. If applications are unavailable in one category, slots will be redistributed to the next-highest merit applicant.

Renewals are performance-based, requiring a minimum 3.00 CGPA or 70% marks. Scholarships may be discontinued if academic standards are not maintained.
