King Edward Medical University Lahore is leading medical university in Pakistan. This university has historical background of 140 years. This university has very high standard and criteria for new admissions. More than 90% marks are necessary for new admissions.
Initially this university established in 1860, named as Lahore medical School. Its first principal was Dr. J. B. Scriven. It came on second number in medical colleges after Calcutta medical School, which was the first medical institution in subcontinent. After that its name becomes KEMU after King Edward VII.
Pakistan’s best physician, medical scientist and surgeons are graduated from this university.
Initially it was college and first time affiliated with Punjab University in 1906. This college first time registered with name King Edward Medical College in December 1911.
