Ranks of 19 Pakistani Universities in Top 500 World Campuses

The University of Indonesia’s UI Green Metric World University carried out the ranking of the world universities and it has ranked 19 Pakistani universities in top 500 greenest campuses all over the world. This university has been maintaining the ranking by 2010 and it evaluates and compares the sustainability efforts of the campuses. There are 912 universities from 84 countries of the world, which participated in competition and 51 Pakistani universities also took part in this competition. But only 19 universities of Pak got the rank in top 500 universities across the world. You can find ranks of 19 Pakistani universities in top 500 World Greenest Campuses.

According to UI’s Green Metric, Muhammad Nawaz Shareef University of Agriculture, Multan is declared the greenest higher education campus in the country and after that National University of Sciences and Technology NUST is considered the second best and greenest campus. These two campuses are numbered as 154th and 179th in the overall rankings.

Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi was at the top position last year and at the second position in 2019 country-wise. Now this university ped its position and reached at the third position because it lost 325 points in the education and research sector. Now this campus is ranked at 191 in the world ranking. The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and University of Lahore have the ranks off four and five in the country-wise rankings but these two universities have their global ranking of 216th and 226th respectively.

Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology, Rahim Yar Khan, Capital University of Science and Technology Islamabad and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro are placed at the 6th, 7th and 8th position but these universities have the world rankings of 234th, 286th and 298th respectively. In the world greenest campus ranking, two more Pakistani universities are included, which are University of Faisalabad and Iqra University and they are placed at 9th and 10th position while their world ranking is 341st and 353rd.
