HEC Admissions 2025 PhD Scholarships in USA

The Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan, under its prestigious US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Project, is inviting applications for fully funded PhD scholarships at top-ranking US universities for Fall 2025, Spring/Summer 2026, and Fall 2026 admissions.

This initiative aims to empower Pakistani students by providing opportunities to pursue doctoral studies in world-class universities, fostering academic excellence and promoting research collaborations between the two countries.

HEC Admission offer Scholarship Opportunity

The scholarship covers:

Tuition fees fully or partially, depending on the university category

Monthly stipend

Health insurance coverage

Note: This scholarship is exclusively for the PhD program and does not cover MS leading to PhD degrees.

Applicants will be given priority if admitted in preferred subject areas as listed on the HEC website: HEC US-PAK KCSA.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following general requirements:

Pakistani or Azad Jammu & Kashmir AJK nationals.

Hold a minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree BS/BSc/BE or 16 years of formal education.

Must not have any 2nd or 3rd division in their entire academic record applicable for Category I & II scholarships.

Specific Scholarship Categories

Category I:

For students admitted to the Top 50 QS World Ranked US Universities overall or subject ranking.

Covers full tuition as per university invoice, stipend, and health insurance.

Must have:

Admission confirmation from a top 50 QS ranked US university.

Valid GRE General Test score minimum 300 or HEC Aptitude Test HEC-AT score minimum 60%.

Age limit:

40 years for regular government employees, faculty members of public sector universities/government colleges, or regular researchers at approved R&D organizations.

35 years for all other applicants.

Applicants must not be receiving any other scholarships.

Category II:

For students admitted to US universities ranked 51-300 in QS World Rankings overall or subject ranking.

Tuition fee coverage up to USD 12,000 per annum, plus stipend and health insurance.

Requirements:

Admission in a US university ranked between 51-300 by QS, with subject ranking up to 100.

Valid GRE General Test score minimum 300 or HEC-AT score minimum 60%.

Same age and scholarship conditions apply as Category I.

Important Notes

Only applicants meeting both general and specific eligibility will be considered.

Selection is competitive; HEC reserves the right to award scholarships only to the most deserving candidates.

Preference will be given to students admitted to universities ranked in the Top 100 QS US universities with a subject ranking up to 100.

Spring/Summer 2026 Admissions: 15th November 2025
