Punjab University Announces Major Update for LLB Aspirants
In a major relief for law aspirants, Punjab University has approved a significant change to its LLB admission policy, allowing individuals to apply for admission at any stage of life without being restricted by a session gap. The students can get fresh updates of Punjab University Announces Major Update for LLB Aspirants.
Previously, applicants were required to enroll in the LLB program within five years of completing their intermediate education. This policy often prevented many, especially those seeking to return to studies after a long break, from pursuing a law degree. Based on recommendations from the university’s Board of Studies, the Academic Council has now approved the removal of this limitation. The proposal is currently awaiting final endorsement from the university’s Syndicate.
Session Gap Condition Removed, Making Law Studies More Accessible
Traditionally, admissions to Punjab University Law College were primarily open to recent intermediate graduates. The elimination of the session gap will now enable a broader group of applicants, including professionals and individuals resuming education later in life, to enroll in the LLB program.
In addition, the Higher Education Commission HEC has announced a reduction in the duration of the LLB Honours degree, shortening it from five years to four. This change is expected to further attract aspiring law students by making the program more manageable and time-efficient.
With these new reforms, Punjab University aims to expand access to legal education and create more opportunities for a diverse range of students who were previously unable to meet the earlier stringent admission conditions.
