FCPS Training Program Admissions 2025 open in SMBBMC

Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical College SMBBMC Lyari, Karachi, is pleased to announce the commencement of the Postgraduate Training Program for the academic session 2025-B. Admissions are invited from eligible medical graduates for FCPS-II and MCPS training in the following disciplines:

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for admission:

MBBS degree from a recognized medical university listed in Schedule I & II of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council PMDC, Islamabad.

Valid PMDC registration as a medical practitioner.

One-year house job from a PMDC-recognized institution.

For FCPS-II, the applicant must have passed FCPS-I in the relevant specialty.

For MCPS, the house job must be in the relevant specialty.

Foreign medical graduates must provide PMDC equivalence of their degree.

Application Procedure

Prescribed application forms can be collected from the Office of the Co-Chairperson, Postgraduate Medical Education, Training, Research & Ethics Committee, SMBBMC Lyari, Karachi.

The selection process includes a written entry test followed by an interview/viva, based strictly on merit and seat availability.

Applicants must apply separately for each specialty and adhere strictly to deadlines. No applications will be entertained after the closing date.

Important Instructions

In-service candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate NOC from their respective employer; failure to do so will lead to rejection of the application.

Selection is subject to seat/stipend availability and may be altered or cancelled by the Postgraduate Selection Committee.

The college reserves the right to change rules, regulations, and schedule dates when deemed necessary.

Stipend & Training Policy

FCPS-II trainees are entitled to a stipend as per the Government of Sindh regulations.

Training under MCPS and other courses is honorary non-paid.

In case of a public health emergency or mass disaster, all residents will be required to participate in relief efforts as part of their institutional duty.
