FDE end Saturday Holiday in Islamabad Schools and Colleges
The Federal Directorate of Education FDE has introduced a new schedule for schools and colleges in Islamabad to address the recent loss of instructional time. Starting November 30, 2024, all educational institutions under FDE will operate six days a week, with Sunday as the sole day off. This temporary measure will remain in effect until February 1, 2025.
This adjustment comes in response to significant disruptions caused by political unrest and protests, particularly by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf PTI. Frequent closures over safety concerns have hindered students academic progress, prompting the FDE School Schedule 2024 to act swiftly to recover lost time.
The updated schedule applies to both urban and rural Schools and Colleges in Islamabad and follows the pre-existing official working hours. The policy was issued through a notification on November 29, 2024, with the endorsement of the FDE’s Director General.
While some stakeholders commend the decision for prioritizing education, others have criticized the prolonged political tensions that have disrupted student learning. The six-day week is viewed as a necessary step to ensure students meet their yearly academic goals despite challenges.
By implementing this change, the FDE End Saturday Holiday in Islamabad Schools and Colleges aims to restore academic stability and support students in catching up on lost instructional hours. The new schedule reflects a commitment to overcoming barriers and maintaining educational standards in the federal capital Saturday in Islamabad.
