Punjab University Suspend Academic Activities
University of the Punjab has declared the first week of September as a “Zero Week” due to the ongoing heavy rains and widespread flooding across the country. According to an official notification issued by the Punjab University registrar, all academic activities will remain suspended from September 1 to 7, 2025. The step has been taken to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, faculty members, and administrative staff. Focus on Admission and Orientation Activities
During the suspension period, academic departments will utilize the week to manage admission procedures, conduct orientation sessions, and handle hostel allotments for new and returning students. Faculty members and administrative staff will also organize meet-and-greet sessions to ensure a smooth transition for students as they prepare to resume their studies.
Resumption of Classes and Exams from September 8
The notification further stated that regular classes and examinations will formally resume on September 8, 2025. The previously issued academic calendar will remain unchanged. However, in case of any academic loss, the university may arrange extra online sessions or schedule Saturday classes to cover missed syllabus and maintain academic continuity.
