Punjab Govt Sets Up Universities in 8 Districts

Government of the Punjab is going to taking the initiatives for the development and improvement of education in the entire province. The government has announced their budget for the fiscal year 2021-2022 and the government has allocated the funds for the establishment of eight new universities in different districts of Punjab. The Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister informed that Punjab Govt Sets Up Universities in 8 Districts.
The government will set up the universities in the districts of Hafizabad, Attock, Bhakkar, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Sialkot, Pakpattan and Layyah. The government has alloed the funds of Rs.15 billion for the higher education development in this fiscal year and this amount is 285 percent more than the amount in previous fiscal year. It is worth mentioned that Punjab government has already established six universities in different districts of Punjab. The government is also considering the establishment of seven more universities in the districts of DG Khan, Toba Tek Singh, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Sheikhupura and Muzaffargarh in the next fiscal year.
The government has allocated Rs.16.60 billion for establishment of University of Applied Engineering & Emerging Technology in Sialkot, Rs.2 billion for the University of DG Khan, Rs.2 billion for Baba Farid University in Pakpattan, Rs.2 billion for University in Attock, and Rs.3 billion for University in Gujranwala.
