Punjab College Initiative Free Education for Workers Children





Punjab Group of Colleges PGC has introduced a commendable initiative by offering free education and hostel accommodations for the children of workers across the province. This initiative encompasses free education up to the intermediate level across more than 400 campuses of Punjab Colleges. Moreover, university-level education is also included, with beneficiaries having access to the University of Central Punjab and the University of Biological and Applied Sciences. Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for this scholarship, certain conditions must be met. The applicant must be a certified worker under the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund, falling within the definition of a "worker" as outlined in the Industrial Relations Act, 2010. Additionally, they must be covered by either EOBI or Social Security, and have a minimum employment tenure of three years under the Factory and Factories Act, 1934, working as a laborer in a registered factory.


Scope of PGC:

PGC stands as one of the largest educational networks in Pakistan, with over 400 campuses offering comprehensive educational opportunities. Beneficiaries of this initiative will not only receive free education from college to university level but will also be provided with complimentary transport and hostel facilities during the duration of their studies.


Additional Scholarships Offered:

Apart from the workers scholarship, PGC extends its support through various other scholarship programs, including merit-based scholarships, assistance for teachers children, kinship grants, aid for orphan students, and support for students with special needs. Additionally, need-based concessions are available, along with specific incentives for employees of 1122 and the children of Shuhda. Moreover, PGC acknowledges and rewards high achievers through its incentive policies, including those for matric toppers and PGC students enrolled in universities.
