Punjab Extended Summer Holidays for Schools
Punjab School Education Department has formally announced an extension of summer holidays for all public and private schools in the province. As per the notification released on August 7, 2025, the vacation period will now run from August 14 to August 31, with classes resuming on Monday, September 1, 2025. Approval and Scope of Decision
This move has been sanctioned by the Competent Authority and serves as an extension to the earlier directive issued on May 20, 2025. The revised schedule applies to all institutions operating under the jurisdiction of the Punjab School Education Department.
Instructions for Implementation
The notification directs all Chief Executive Officers CEOs of District Education Authorities DEAs to ensure complete adherence to the new timetable, both in its letter and intent, across their respective districts.
Addressing Fake News Concerns
The official announcement follows a recent clarification by the department, which had dismissed a fake notification circulating online that falsely claimed the holidays had been extended. At that time, the department emphasized that only updates issued through authorized channels should be considered authentic.
End of Speculation and Confirmed Dates
With this official notice, all uncertainty has been removed. The summer vacation extend until the end of August, and schools are expected to resume regular academic activities from September 1, 2025.
