PPSC Introduces New Policy for Exam Centre Changes
Punjab Public Service Commission PPSC has announced a new policy permitting candidates to request a change of examination centre under specific and exceptional circumstances. Grounds for Requesting an Exam Centre Change
Under the new policy, candidates can apply for a change of their assigned exam centre for valid reasons such as medical conditions, overlapping exams, marriage or the death of an immediate family member, pregnancy or maternity for female candidates, natural disasters, or serious law and order concerns.
Official Notification and Approval
The policy was formally issued by PPSC Secretary Afzal Ahmed following approval from the Commission Chairman, retired Lt Gen Abdul Aziz. The commission emphasizes that all applications for centre changes must include authentic and verifiable documentary evidence. Requests submitted without proper proof will be rejected.
Consideration of Special Cases
In addition to the standard grounds, the policy allows the commission to evaluate requests on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances such as a change of residence, official transfers, or accessibility challenges for candidates with special needs. These requests, too, must be supported with proper documentation.
Specific Rule for PPSC Employees
The PPSC has also clarified that candidates who are employees of the commission and applying for any post will be automatically assigned Lahore as their examination centre. Requests for a change of centre in these cases will not be considered under any circumstances.
This policy aims to balance flexibility for candidates with the need to maintain the integrity and organization of examinations.
