Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan is currently inviting applications for its fully funded PhD scholarships in the United States, offered under the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor initiative. What is the US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor?
The US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor is a visionary program designed to send 1,000 Pakistani students to the United States for PhD studies, with a broader aim of enhancing Pakistans higher education and research sectors. In its first phase, HEC plans to fund up to 1,500 scholars for doctoral programs at premier US institutions. This initiative supports the long-term development of Pakistan’s academic and research capacities, contributing to national progress and economic growth.
Scholarship Benefits
Candidates selected under this program will receive comprehensive financial support, which includes:
- Full tuition fee as per the universitys official fee structure
- Monthly stipend for living expenses
- Health insurance coverage
- Return airfare
- One-time settlement allowance
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a citizen of Pakistan or Azad Jammu & Kashmir AJK
- Hold a 16-year Bachelors degree or an MS/MPhil from an HEC-recognized university
- Age Limit:
- Up to 40 years for full-time faculty or researchers in public sector universities or R&D institutions
- Up to 35 years for all other applicants
- Must possess valid GRE General and TOEFL/IELTS scores, as per US university requirements
- Must not have more than two second divisions, and no third division or grade D, with a minimum of 50% marks throughout the academic career
Additional Considerations
- Preference is given to applicants who already have admission offers from any of the top 235 US universities or 23 accredited university systems in the US
- Candidates will be evaluated using the HEC-AEF academic evaluation framework
- Those with a GRE General score of 308 or higher are strongly encouraged to apply
Application Process
- All applications must be submitted online via the HEC Scholarship Portal:

- Applicants must upload scanned and attested documents attestation must be by a Grade-17 or higher officer
- Hard copies are not required during the initial application stage
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered
- Final university admission and visa application are the sole responsibility of the applicant
