DUHS Administers MDCAT in Sindh Once Again
Following the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro LUMHS stepping down from conducting the Medical and Dental Colleges Admissions Test MDCAT, the Sindh government has tasked the Dow University of Health Sciences DUHS with this responsibility. The students can get the latest updates that DUHS Administers MDCAT in Sindh Once Again.
Third Consecutive Year for DUHS
This will be the third year in a row that DUHS administers the MDCAT for admissions to both private and public medical and dental institutions across Sindh. An official notification confirming this decision has been issued by Sindh Health Secretary Rehan Baloch.
Reason for LUMHS Withdrawal
LUMHS Vice Chancellor Dr. Ikramuddin Ujjan explained that his decision to not oversee the MDCAT this year is due to a potential conflict of interest, as his son will be taking the exam. To maintain fairness and transparency, he suggested another university take over the administration of the test.
Consideration of Other Universities
Earlier discussions considered the People’s Medical University Nawabshah or Larkana Medical University as potential candidates for conducting the MDCAT. However, officials ultimately decided that DUHS would be best suited for the role.
Previous Years Challenges
Last year, DUHS conducted the MDCAT after the initial test administered by Jinnah Sindh Medical University was canceled due to allegations of a paper leak. This year, DUHS continues its role in ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of the admissions test.
