China Announces Fully-Funded Scholarships for Pakistani Students for 2026 2027

The Chinese Scholarship Council CSC has announced 75 fully-funded scholarships for Pakistani students for the academic year 2026–27. This initiative is part of the Chinese government’s effort to strengthen educational cooperation with Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission HEC Pakistan serves as the official nominating body responsible for shortlisting eligible candidates. Programs Offered

The CSC scholarship program supports international students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees in various academic disciplines. Where required, a one-year Chinese language preparatory course is included.

Undergraduate Programs: Duration is 4–5 years, with a mandatory 1–2 year Chinese language preparatory course unless the applicant holds HSK Level 3 certification.

Master’s Programs: Last 2–3 years, with a preparatory year if needed.

PhD Programs: Duration is 3–4 years, with a preparatory year required for students needing language training.

Financial Coverage

The CSC scholarship offers comprehensive financial support, including:

Tuition Fees: Fully covered, including education, administrative, and health insurance costs.
Accommodation: Free dormitory or housing subsidy.
Monthly Stipend: Provided according to CSC policy, varying by degree level.
Travel Expenses: To be borne by the awardee.

Note: HEC will not be responsible for any financial obligations under this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

Be Pakistani or AJK nationals dual nationals are not eligible.
Be in good health and have completed the required degrees before the application deadline.

Age and Academic Requirements:

Undergraduate: 12 years of schooling, under 25 years of age.
Master’s: Bachelor’s degree 16 years, under 35 years.
PhD: Master’s or MPhil degree, under 40 years.

Applicants must meet CSC and university admission requirements, cannot hold another scholarship simultaneously, and must submit valid test scores USAT for undergraduates, HAT for Master’s/PhD. Those applying for professional degrees medical, engineering, law, architecture, veterinary must ensure their programs are accredited by the relevant councils.

Application Process

Applicants must submit two online applications:

HEC Portal: Complete profile, select “Learning Opportunities Abroad,” submit application, and retain a signed printed copy.
CSC Portal: Apply under Program Category Type A, Agency Number 5861 HEC/Pakistan, and sign the form.

Undergraduates must take the CSCA test on December 21, 2025, and provide the score before the deadline. Shortlisted candidates will submit attested and translated documents, including educational certificates, CNIC, domicile, birth certificate, equivalence certificates if applicable, study plan/research proposal, language proficiency proof IELTS/TOEFL/HSK, passport, physical exam form, police clearance, and two recommendation letters for Master’s/PhD applicants.
