The Balochistan Education Department has unveiled a revised curriculum for the upcoming academic year, implementing significant changes across all educational levels, from primary to higher secondary. This update aims to modernize learning and ensure students receive a more relevant and comprehensive education. Inclusion of Quranic Studies from Class 1 to 12

Under the new curriculum, Nazra Quran and Quran-with-translation will be formally incorporated into the syllabus for all classes, from Class 1 through Class 12. This initiative emphasizes a structured approach to religious education alongside other academic subjects.

Modernized Computer Education for Middle Grades

Students in Classes 6 to 8 will benefit from updated Computer Education textbooks. These new editions replace outdated materials and are designed to enhance students’ digital literacy and practical computer skills, aligning with modern technological demands.

Guidelines for Responsible Social Media Use

To encourage safe and responsible digital behavior, the department has also approved separate textbooks for Classes 6 to 12 focused on social media awareness. These resources aim to guide students in using online platforms positively and responsibly.

Punjab Also Introduces Major Textbook Revisions

Similarly, the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority PECTAA has announced plans to replace 29 textbooks for middle and high school students in the next academic year. Classes 6 to 9 will see changes, with Class 9 experiencing the most significant update, involving the replacement of 18 textbooks.

Preparations and Communication with Schools

PECTAA has begun preparing the new textbooks and has issued official notices to all educational institutions regarding these revisions. Publishers have been advised to initiate printing orders promptly to ensure that revised textbooks are available to students on time.
