HEC Funding on COVID-19 Outbreak Research Work
The Higher Education Commission has collected the proposals from the institutes, universities and the individual researchers on the ideas to address the ‘novel coronavirus crisis’. HEC Funding on COVID-19 Outbreak Research Work.
The senior management of HEC has conducted the special video meeting and most of the staff of HEC has been instructed to work from home and they should follow the directives of health ministry and all the work of the commission is conducted electronically. The research initiative is carried out with the support of World Bank and it is entitled as the RAPID Research and Innovation Fund program. It has the purpose to mobilize the research capacities of the universities to support the national effort to resolve the Coronavirus crisis.
HEC is going to carry out the rapid assessment and the review mechanism in order to analyze the research and innovation proposals urgently. All the applicants can seek funding through the program and they can propose the idea, which can be based on the priority themes.
HEC asks the candidates to forward their proposals by 3 April and the decisions regarding funding will be made during the month of April. The funding will be provided to the selected research intensive institutes to carry out the analysis of the data, testing of specimens, access to the facilities or the equipment or for the development of the necessary services and products.
