UBC Forestry Degree Canada CAD 35585 Funding 2026

Aspiring graduate researchers across Pakistan can now pursue advanced forestry studies in Canada as the University of British Columbia announced admissions with financial grants reaching up to CAD 35,585 per year. Applications are officially open for the UBC Forestry Degree Canada 2026 scholarship cycle, inviting international candidates to apply for the Master of Applied Science program before the February 1 deadline.

This significant funding package provides a major financial breakthrough for Pakistani engineering and applied science graduates aiming for international research careers. Studying abroad often carries heavy financial barriers, particularly regarding tuition fees and living expenses. By combining research assistantships, teaching stipends, and institutional tuition awards, this opportunity allows scholars to focus completely on climate resilience and sustainable forest management without overwhelming economic strain.

Academic Architecture of UBC MASc Forestry Graduate Grants

The Master of Applied Science in Forestry offered by the Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Stewardship is a research-intensive graduate program designed to solve global environmental challenges. According to official institution data, supported master’s candidates receive median annual funding of CAD 35,585 during their first two years. After accounting for tuition and mandatory campus fees, students retain a median net funding of CAD 25,296 annually to support their living costs.

The faculty separately establishes a baseline departmental funding guarantee of CAD 20,000 per year for research-based masters students. Additionally, international scholars automatically qualify for consideration regarding the International Tuition Award worth up to CAD 3,200 annually, offsetting tuition charges that average roughly CAD 10,081 for foreign candidates.

Academic Criteria and UBC Forestry Scholarship Requirements 2026

To qualify for admission, candidates must hold a recognized four-year bachelor’s degree in applied science or engineering. Applicants from Pakistan must demonstrate a first-division academic standing, equivalent to a minimum overall average in the B+ range 76% under Canadian grading scales. The department does not require GRE test scores, making the qualification criteria straightforward for qualified applicants.

Language proficiency requirements necessitate an overall IELTS Academic band score of 7.0 with at least 6.5 in each module, or a Duolingo English Test score of 130. Candidates presenting TOEFL iBT exam results must meet specific component score thresholds based on test dates. Crucially, candidates must secure a written supervisor agreement from a faculty professor before initiating their official application.

Application Strategy for Canadian Forestry Degree Admissions 2026

Education consultants advise interested applicants to start reaching out to potential faculty supervisors immediately. Because MASc degrees are heavily thesis-focused, securing a professor whose current research aligns with the candidates academic background is the single most critical step in gaining admission and financial endorsement.

Candidates completing undergraduate studies under the Punjab Board or recognized Pakistani higher education commission universities must prepare attested transcripts, three academic reference letters, and a structured statement of research intent. With all materials submitted through the graduate portal before February 1, successful applicants will commence their on-campus degree journey in September.
