38 Fake Nursing Colleges in Pakistan You Must Avoid

The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council PNMC has issued a strong warning after releasing a list of 38 unapproved nursing colleges operating in different parts of Pakistan. The council cautioned students and parents not to enroll in these institutions since their degrees are invalid and hold no professional recognition. PNMC Alerts Students About Fake Institutions

This announcement has created serious concern in the education sector, especially among aspiring nurses who were misled into seeking admission in these unauthorized colleges. PNMC clarified that only colleges officially registered with the council are permitted to offer nursing and midwifery education in the country.

Distribution of Unrecognized Colleges

According to PNMC’s official report, the fake nursing colleges are located in different provinces and regions:

Punjab – 25 colleges
Islamabad – 5 colleges
Sindh – 5 colleges
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – 2 colleges

Despite repeated notices, these colleges continue to deceive students by offering admissions without fulfilling legal and academic requirements.

Although 755 nursing and midwifery colleges are officially recognized in Pakistan, the shortage of trained nurses has encouraged fake institutes to exploit students by offering low-quality and unrecognized programs.

Consequences for Students of Fake Colleges

Enrolling in such institutions brings serious risks:

Degrees from these colleges are not accepted by hospitals, health departments, or foreign employers.
Students cannot register with PNMC, which means they cannot legally practice nursing in Pakistan.

Experts strongly advise parents and students to verify an institute’s recognition status from PNMC’s official website before applying.

Reaction and Demands

The disclosure has alarmed families and students, especially those already enrolled in the listed colleges. Many have urged the authorities to take strict legal action against the administration of these institutes for misleading young learners and wasting their future.
