Uniform National Curriculum First Phase To be Launched Soon

The Government has taken an important initiative to equalize the education in all private, public and religious educational institutions across the country by launching the Uniform National Curriculum UNC for class 1 to Class 5.

The Government is now ready to launch the first phase of the Uniform National Curriculum in the country. The Parliamentary Secretary of Education, Wajiha Akram confirmed it while talking to National Assembly.

She confirmed that the Federal Government has finalized the curriculum. According to Education Secretary, the govt has also prepared the model textbooks for classes 1 to 5. She added further that provinces will choose these textbooks or prepare their own textbooks.

The federal government will introduce the uniform national curriculum for classes 6 to 8 will be introduced in the country from the academic year 2022-2023 in the second phase. Uniform national curriculum for Class 9 to Class 12 will be introduced in the third phase from the academic year 2023-2024.

According to Mrs Wajiha, the uniform curriculum will offer equal opportunities for learning and also strengthen the national harmony among the students across the country. This may lead to nation building in true sense.
