Schools to Close Till 28 April 2021 Vacation Extended

The Federal government has conducted the meeting with National Command and Control Operation NCOC in Islamabad. The current situation of the COVID-19 cases and huge increase in death rate during the third wave of the virus was discussed in the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by the Health Minister and the Minister of Federal Education, Shafqat Mehmood. After discussion, the Federal government decided to close the educational institutions across the country. The Examination status is also reviewed in the meeting.

Closure Schools

After meeting the, Federal Minister of Education, Shafqat Mehmood told media that the schools across the country will remain closed till 28th April 2021 over the corona virus situation. He said that the classes from 1 to 8 affected badly in the present situation. However he further said that a re meeting will be called for the review the decision whether the schools will be reopened till Eid or not.

Closure Colleges And Universities

While briefing the media after the meeting, Shafqat Mehmood said that classes in the schools and colleges from 9th to 12 will be started from 19th April 2021. All students would have to follow the COVID-19 SOPs strictly. The universities will remain closed in the effected areas but the online classes will continue.

Examinations

While speaking about Examinations, the Minister said that the classes 9 to 12 Exams will be held in the first week of the May 2021. The provinces have set their own schedule for exams. So some exams will be conducted in June and July.
