Punjab Grade 8 Board Exams May Limit Subjects to Core Four

Punjab Grade 8 Board Exams May Limit Subjects to Core Four

A significant update has surfaced about the Grade 8 board examinations in Punjab, as the Punjab Examination Commission PECTA is currently facing serious financial difficulties. Because of these constraints, the commission is reviewing options to adjust the examination process. The students can get the latest updates of Proposed Limited Grade 8 Board Exams in Punjab.

Possible Conduct of Grade 8 Exams for Selected Subjects
As per official information, PECTA is considering holding examinations in only four core subjects due to insufficient funds. Under the preliminary plan, students would be examined in Urdu, English, Mathematics, and Science only, instead of the full range of subjects.

Sources indicate that nearly Rs. 1 billion is required to organize the examinations in a fair and transparent manner throughout the province. However, ongoing budget limitations have made it difficult for the commission to proceed as usual. In response, PECTA has initiated discussions with the Punjab government to arrange the necessary financial support.

Officials also shared that approximately 50,000 invigilators would be engaged to oversee the examinations, and they would be paid daily allowances for their supervisory and assessment duties.

To streamline the process, students will not need to submit separate admission forms. All candidates already registered under the School Information System SIS will automatically be issued roll number slips.

Furthermore, it has been reported that over one million students across Punjab are enrolled for the Grade 8 board examinations. Authorities are expected to announce a final decision regarding the exam format and included subjects in the near future.
