Punjab Begins Phase 2 of Free Laptop Program
The Punjab government has officially started Phase 2 of the Chief Minister’s Laptop Distribution Scheme, covering Lahore and other districts across the province. In this phase, 60,000 students are set to receive laptops according to a pre-announced schedule. The rollout coincides with the ongoing distribution under Phase 1. Govt Expands Initiative to Provide Laptops to Students
During Phase 1, the initial goal was to distribute laptops to 100,000 students, a process that is still underway. Authorities are managing both phases simultaneously to ensure the maximum number of eligible students benefit from the program. In total, the scheme plans to provide 160,000 laptops to students across Punjab.
Students continue to submit their applications via the Higher Education Department HED portal, which remains open for registrations. Officials emphasized that the initiative is designed to equip students with modern technology and support educational and research activities throughout the province.
