PMDC Increases Entry Standards for Medical Admissions
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PMDC has raised the minimum academic requirement for students aiming to enroll in MBBS and BDS courses. The eligibility criterion for Intermediate Pre-Medical or equivalent qualifications has been increased from 60% to 65%. The students can get the latest updates of PMDC Increases Entry Standards for Medical Admissions.
This change was officially confirmed in a notification by PMDC Registrar Dr. Shaista. The updated requirement will be effective for admissions for the academic year 2025–2026. As per the new policy, only those who score at least 65% in their FSc or equivalent examinations will be allowed to sit for the MDCAT.
Higher Eligibility Requirements Announced for MBBS and BDS Programs
Furthermore, candidates are now required to take the MDCAT 2025 exam within the province or region corresponding to their domicile. For overseas students, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been designated as the sole international examination center.
To aid preparation, PMDC has also uploaded the latest MDCAT syllabus on its official website.
