PhD Programs Admissions 2025 open in JSMU
Jinnah Sindh Medical University’s Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences IPS-JSMU is pleased to announce Admissions Open for the Ph.D. Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This HEC-accredited and PCP-approved program is designed to equip scholars with advanced research knowledge and academic excellence in the field of pharmacy.
Ph.D. Disciplines Offered
Candidates may apply for admission in one of the following specializations:
Pharmaceutics
Pharmacology
Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Pharmacognosy
Pharmacy Practice

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission to the Ph.D. program:
Candidate must have a Pharm.D. or B.Pharm degree, along with an MS/MPhil/M.Pharm 18 years of education, Level 7 from an HEC-recognized institution.
A minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in a semester system or 60% in an annual system is required.
Candidates with a CGPA between 2.5–2.9 may be considered for conditional admission, subject to completion of additional coursework in a Zero Semester, as per HEC/JSMU policy.

Entry Test Options:
Appear in JSMU’s own subject-specific admission test Minimum passing score: 60%
OR
Submit a valid GRE/HAT/GAT Subject test result with a minimum 60% score, conducted by an HEC-accredited body.
Shortlisting & Interview Process:
Only successful test-takers will be called for an interview.
Shortlisted candidates must submit a research proposal aligned with their area of interest at the time of interview.
No TA/DA will be provided for test or interview.
Intra-Disciplinary Admissions
Conditional intra-disciplinary admission e.g., switching between offered specializations is allowed only if:
Candidate has passed GRE-Subject/Equivalent Test with at least 60% in the relevant discipline.
Candidate must complete 6–9 credit hours of deficiency coursework in the Zero Semester.
