Pakistan Launches Merit-Based AI Training Programs Abroad for Students
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a government initiative to send Pakistani students abroad for advanced training in artificial intelligence, with programs planned in Europe and China. Announcement at University of Haripur
The prime minister shared this initiative during a ceremony at the University of Haripur, where laptops were distributed under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme. He emphasized that students from all provinces, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will be selected strictly based on merit.
Focus on National Talent Development
Addressing the audience of officials, youth representatives, and students, the prime minister highlighted that the laptop scheme has already benefited over one million students nationwide. He stated that Pakistan’s progress depends on balanced development across all regions and referenced prior training initiatives in agriculture and overseas education programs.
New Educational Institutions in Haripur
Responding to local needs, the prime minister announced the establishment of a Daanish School in Haripur, modeled after similar institutions in Punjab, featuring separate campuses for boys and girls. He also approved the creation of a women’s campus at the University of Haripur and directed authorities to implement it promptly.
