In response to ongoing financial strains, Pakistan’s 14 educational boards, including those in the Rawalpindi Division, have announced an increase in exam fees for Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC students. Effective for the 2025 intermediate exams, this fee adjustment has prompted concerns from families already struggling to manage educational costs. Revised Fee Structure for Private and Regular Candidates

Under the new fee structure, private candidates will now pay Rs. 5,000, while regular students will pay a total of Rs. 4,800. For regular students, the fee breakdown includes Rs. 1,400 for arts students and Rs. 1,500 for science students. Private candidates will face slightly higher subject fees, with Rs. 1,500 for arts and Rs. 1,600 for science.

Additional Charges for Registration and Processing

Each student must also cover a Rs. 1,000 registration fee, a Rs. 1,000 certificate fee, and a Rs. 1,000 processing fee. Additionally, Rs. 700 has been allocated to cover development, scholarship, and postal expenses. Students transferring from other boards must pay an additional Rs. 1,000 to obtain a No Objection Certificate NOC.

Important Deadlines for Fee Submission

The deadlines for submitting fees have been set as follows: single fees by November 27, double fees by December 11, and triple fees by December 24. For late submissions, a penalty of Rs. 200 per day will apply until February 11, escalating to Rs. 700 per day until February 21, 2025.

Parental Concerns Over Rising Educational Costs
