HEC PhD Scholarships for Top 100 US Universities
The Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan has officially announced its latest PhD scholarship program for the 2027 academic cycle, operating under the prestigious US–Pakistan Knowledge Corridor. This initiative is specifically designed for high-achieving Pakistani and AJK nationals aiming to pursue doctoral studies at globally recognized institutions. These HEC PhD fully funded scholarships aim to foster advanced research by facilitating placements in universities ranked among the top 100 in the QS World University Rankings.
Program Structure and Financial Support
The scholarship is divided into two distinct categories based on university prestige. Category I focuses on institutions ranked in the top 50, providing full tuition coverage, an annual stipend of USD 19,200, and USD 2,000 for health insurance. Category II covers universities ranked 51–100, offering a tuition subsidy of up to USD 12,000 annually, alongside the same stipend and health insurance support. It is important to note that this program is strictly for HEC doctoral degrees admission; MS or MS-leading-to-PhD tracks are not included. Candidates are required to secure admission independently and should ideally possess a valid GRE General score of at least 300 or an HEC HAT score of 60%.
Eligibility Criteria and Application Process
To qualify for these HEC international scholarships, applicants must hold a four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent 16 years of education and maintain a clean academic record with no second or third divisions. Age requirements are set at 35 years for general applicants, while government employees and faculty members may apply up to age 40. Interested candidates must submit their applications through the official HEC scholarship portal. Applicants are strongly advised to consult the HEC website for detailed guidance on preferred subject areas and submission protocols to ensure their candidacy for these competitive academic fellowships is successful.
