HEC Launches Undergraduate Scholarships for Students from Coastal Balochistan
Higher Education Commission HEC of Pakistan is inviting applications from outstanding students of Gwadar, Lasbela, Hub, Kech Turbat, and Awaran districts in Balochistan to apply for undergraduate scholarships. These scholarships are available at public and private universities/degree-awarding institutions DAIs across Pakistan under the Coastal Region Higher Education Scholarship Programme for Balochistan. Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Residency: Must have a domicile or local certificate from Gwadar, Lasbela, Hub, Kech Turbat, or Awaran districts.
- Educational Qualifications: Must have completed 12 years of education with at least 50% marks in their Secondary School Certificate SSC or equivalent. Those applying for professional programs should meet the specific eligibility requirements for that degree.
- Age Limit: Must not be older than 22 years as of the application deadline.
- Program Restriction: Applicants can only enroll in one HEC scholarship program per academic year/session.
- Higher Education Status: Must not already be enrolled in any university or college program in Pakistan for BS 4–5 years.
- Other Conditions: Students who are already availing other HEC or government scholarships are not eligible to apply.
Important Information
- Scholarships will be granted on merit and open merit quota basis as per HEC policy.
- Applicants will be shortlisted based on marks, entrance test scores if required, and academic records.
- Minimum academic requirement: 50% marks in the last examination.
- Selected candidates will be informed via the online system, and any false information may result in cancellation of the scholarship.
How to Apply
- Submit an online application through the HEC website.
- Only online applications are accepted; hard copies are not required at this stage.
- Application fee: Rs. 500, payable via 1Link IBFT using your CNIC.
- For instructions on fee submission and detailed guidelines, check the HEC online portal.
- After payment, click “Verify Online Payment” to complete your application.
- Keep checking your email and HEC account for updates regarding the status of your scholarship.
- HEC reserves the right to postpone or cancel the scholarship at any time without prior notice.
Deadline
The last date for online applications is Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to apply well before the deadline to avoid any issues.
