HEC Introduces National Youth Helpline Giving Psychosocial Support to Youngsters

Higher Education Commission has launched the National Youth Helpline with the toll free number 0800-69457 under the Prime Minister Youth Program. The main objective of the launching of this helpline is to provide the psychosocial support and counseling to the young students. They can get detailed information that HEC Introduces National Youth Helpline Giving Psychosocial Support to Youngsters.

The students can have the secure and confidential gateway to have access to the information regarding their issues through this helpline. The students can get the solutions for the counseling for psychosocial issues, reproductive health challenges and career advancement. This advancement has the collective effort of HEC, which is taken under the directives of PM. Rahnuma-Family Planning Association of Pakistan and United Nations Family Planning Association made the partnership to extend the psychosocial support to the young people, who faces the challenges of the mental health. The higher level officials of HEC, UNFPA and Additional Secretary of PM Youth Program graced the occasion to launch this helpline.

The executive director of HEC said that population of Pakistan consists of 64% of youth and they need guidance and support regarding their mental and psychological health like the recent flood situation in the country. She further added that the launching of this important step at the right time and the young students need this guidance and the students will avail this facility as this helpline will ease them to get maximum support all the time.
