Govt Considers Reopening Schools Seriously

Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training said that the federal government is considering the issue of reopening of the government and private schools all over the country. Due to coronavirus pandemic in the country, the schools, colleges and universities were closed down and the academic activities were stopped in the educational institutes and the educational institutes were asked to start the online education to their students in order to avoid the wastage of their year. The government is making the SOPs for the schools and they are ordered to follow them at the time of opening of the schools in order to maintain the health safety of the children and teachers. It is also said that about 70 percent parents are agreed to send their children in the schools under these SOPs. The government is also seeking the suggestions from all provincial governments to prepare the Standing Operating Procedures. It is also suggested that the schools will be opened in three phases and in the first phase, the students of 9th and 10th classes will attend the schools. During the second phase, the students of 5th and 8th classes will attend the classes and in the third phase, the students of the remaining classes will be called to attend their schools. It is also decided by the government that the schools will be opened for only three hours and the compulsory subjects will be taught to the students.
