COMSATS Labour Quota Admissions and Scholarships 2024

Punjab Workers Welfare Board PWWB has introduced comprehensive scholarships for laborers, miners, and their children to pursue higher education at COMSATS University. This initiative, applicable to both the Lahore and Islamabad campuses, reserves 30% of seats in all single-degree programs for individuals under the labor quota. The deadline for scholarship applications is December 19, 2024, for Islamabad Campus and December 20, 2024, for Lahore Campus. Eligibility Criteria for COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarships

To qualify for the COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarships, applicants must meet specific criteria:

Definition of Worker: The applicant must meet the definition of a worker as stated in the Industrial Relations Act of 2010.
Social Security Card: A valid social security card is mandatory.
Work Experience: The applicant must have at least one year of experience in a factory registered under the Factories Act 1934 or the Mines Act 1923.
Factory Definition Compliance: The employing organization must align with the definition of a factory as per the Workers’ Welfare Fund Ordinance 1971 or the Companies’ Profit Workers Participation Act 1968.
Children of Deceased/Disabled Workers: Children of workers who passed away or became disabled during service are eligible, provided the worker was registered under EOBI or Social Security and the family received a death grant or pension.
Clean Record: Neither the worker nor their child should have a history of involvement in illegal activities or criminal cases.

Document Submission for Scholarship Application

Candidates applying for the scholarship 2024 25 must submit specific documents alongside their admission form. The required documents include:

CNIC of the worker or miner.
Valid Social Security or Old Age Benefit card.
Factory/Employee Card indicating designation.
Appointment letter of the worker or miner.
Factory Registration Certificate under the Factories Act 1934 or Mines Act 1923.
NADRA-issued CNIC or Family Registration Certificate of the prospective student.
Service Certificate and a certificate confirming the worker’s good moral conduct.
Affidavit on Rs. 20 stamp paper stating the student will reimburse educational costs if they discontinue their studies.
Proof of Death Grant or Disability Pension in the case of deceased or disabled workers.

Details of PWWB COMSATS Labour Quota Scholarship 2024

This scholarship is granted at the time of COMSATS Admissions 2024 to all single-degree programs. It supports students for up to eight semesters or the duration of their degree program. If a student repeats a course or semester, they are required to bear the associated costs per COMSATS Institute of Information Technology CIIT regulations.

Scholarship Continuation and Requirements

The scholarship continues throughout the maximum duration of the degree program, ensuring uninterrupted financial support for deserving students. However, any repeated courses or semesters are not covered, and students must pay these dues according to institutional policies.
