BISE Rawalpindi Announces New Date for Canceled Inter Paper

BISE Rawalpindi Announces New Date for Canceled Inter Paper

Rawalpindi, June 14, 2025 — In a surprising turn of events, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education BISE Rawalpindi has officially canceled the HSSC Part-I History of Islam paper after students raised strong objections over the inclusion of out-of-syllabus content.

Students from multiple examination centres reported that a significant portion of the paper did not align with the officially prescribed syllabus for 2025. The issue gained momentum during the exam itself, as invigilators were promptly alerted. In response, the BISE administration acted swiftly to assess the situation.

Swift Action Taken by BISE Rawalpindi

BISE Rawalpindi spokesperson Arslan Cheema confirmed the cancellation, stating, “To uphold transparency and fairness in the examination process, we decided to cancel the paper immediately.” The move was aimed at protecting students’ academic interests and ensuring the credibility of the exam process.

The rescheduled paper will now be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in the first group, using the same roll numbers and exam centres. Students are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes early to avoid any inconvenience.

Important Instructions for Students

  • New roll number slips for regular candidates have been uploaded to their respective school portals.

  • Private candidates can download their updated slips directly from the BISE Rawalpindi official website or expect delivery via post.

  • Already issued roll number slips will remain valid, so there is no need for concern if the new one isn’t available yet.

All candidates must bring their roll number slips to the exam centre on the revised date to ensure smooth entry and participation.

Rising Concerns About Exam Oversight

While students have welcomed the board’s prompt decision, the incident has reignited broader concerns about exam oversight and syllabus compliance. Many are now questioning how such a critical error made it past the paper-setting process.

This situation highlights the urgent need for enhanced quality checks and a more robust verification system to prevent future errors in national examinations.
