All Colleges In KPK Directed To Start BS Programs
After the Decision of Higher Education Commission HEC, Islamabad to abolish the 2 years bachelor BA/BSc Degree Programs, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a big initiative. According to recent news, the Chief Minister, KP, Mahmood Khan has officially ordered the colleges across the province to start BS Programs.
The KP government finalized this decision during the progress review meeting of the Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department, Govt of KPK. The meeting was attended by the Special Assistant to CM on Higher Education and Information, Kamran Bangash, Secretary Higher Education, Daud Khan, Secretary Finance, Atif Ur Rehman, Secretary Communication & Works, Ijaz Ansari, and other concerned officials.
Furthermore, it is briefed in the meeting the government has established 19 more colleges in different areas during past period of government and 51 more colleges are under process.
The Official stated:
“Some 1,900 new posts of lecturers had been recently approved to overcome the deficiency of lecturers in colleges. An amount of Rs. 2.56 billion had been sanctioned for providing missing facilities in 177 colleges,”
The Chief Minister, Mahmood Khan ordered the related authorities to immediately start the working of the newly established colleges without any delay. The CM also said for the proposals to rebuild and reorganize the education department according to the needs and demands of the present modern era.
It was claimed by the officials in the meeting that the KP Govt has completely established the BS Block in 12 colleges and the government has also funded the department for the development of furniture, science labs, machinery and other related facilities for the higher education level.
