Admissions 2026 open in Post Doctoral Programme by Federal University of Art

Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology has officially opened admissions for its prestigious Post Doctoral Programme Session 2026. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants interested in applying for the Post Doctoral Programme must fulfill the following requirements:
•Candidates must possess a PhD degree from an HEC-recognized university.
•The PhD degree must be verified by HEC.
•Applicants should have a valid Pakistan Country Directory PCD number.
•Submission of an original and well-structured research proposal is mandatory. The proposal should not merely extend previous PhD work.
•A mentor consent letter must be attached with the application.
•The research synopsis must be approved by the Departmental Post-Doctorate Sub-Committee.
•Final admission recommendations will be reviewed by the FUUAST Post-Doctorate Committee and endorsed by the GRMC.

Programme Structure & Duration
The standard duration of the Post Doctoral Programme is one year consisting of two semesters. However, an extension up to a third semester may be granted based on research performance and mentor recommendations, subject to GRMC approval.
Faculty-Specific Research Tracks
•Science & Technology Disciplines: Focus on laboratory research, weekly mentor meetings, and mandatory Responsible Conduct of Research RCR modules.
•Social Sciences & Other Faculties: Research work is divided into three structured phases of four months each.
•Sandwich Model Opportunity: Researchers may also get the opportunity for 3 to 4 months of international engagement at partner laboratories.

Mentorship by Renowned Scholars
The fellows will have the opportunity to work under internationally recognized mentors and scientists including:
•Atta-ur-Rahman
•Zabta Khan Shinwari
•Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary
Researchers may also work with senior faculty members of FUUAST and scientists from other institutions. Submission of a mentor consent letter is compulsory.

Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the programme and receive the completion certificate, fellows must:

3.Alternatively, candidates may submit a research grant proposal through ORIC for HEC, PSF, NRPU, or industry-funded projects.

Fee Structure & Intellectual Property Policy
The admission processing fee for the programme is Rs. 5,000. Detailed fee information is available in the official Post-Doctoral Programme Guidelines.
FUUAST also encourages research commercialization through its Intellectual Property IP policy. Revenue generated from patents will be distributed as follows:
•Fellow: 40%
•Mentor: 20%
•FUUAST/ORIC: 40%
