The Institute of Islamic Sciences Islamabad IISI was founded in 1986. The main campus of the institute is located near the 17 mile toll plaza on the main Murree Highway, over an area of more than 9 acres. The Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel, Islamabad is basically an Islamic university imparting religious education to the students.

The Institute of Islamic Sciences, Satra Meel, Islamabad is simultaneously affiliated with both the Wifaq ul Madaris Al Arabiyya Pakistan and Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad. The Institute teaches all levels from grade 6 to graduation (modern syllabus) and ‘mutawassita’ (middle) to ‘daura e hadith’ (masters degree), in parallel.Before grade 6, classes for the memorization of the Holy Quran are conducted for students having cleared primary school.
