Eligibility Criteria for MBBS and BDS

To secure admission to Shifa College of Medicine or Shifa College of Dentistry, students must meet specific eligibility criteria. The basic requirements are as follows:

Academic Qualifications: Candidates should have successfully completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate HSSC in the pre-medical group with a minimum aggregate of 60%.

MDCAT Examination: Prospective students are required to pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test MDCAT in accordance with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council PM&DC passing criteria.

Subject Requirements: Students must have passed the subjects of Biology and Chemistry, and either Physics or Mathematics, in their HSSC examination or an equivalent 12th-grade qualification recognized in Pakistan.

For those applying under the Foreign/Overseas Quota Seats, the eligibility criteria are slightly different:

MDCAT/SAT-II/Foreign MCAT/UCAT Examination: Candidates should have passed the MDCAT examination as per PM&DC passing criteria, obtained a minimum score of 550 in each subject in SAT-II, or completed the Foreign MCAT or UCAT examination with a minimum of 50% marks.

Foreign Qualifications: Students who have studied and passed their 12th-grade examination or an equivalent from outside Pakistan can also apply under this category.

Dual Nationals/Overseas Pakistanis: Dual nationals and overseas Pakistanis are eligible to apply for local and foreign seats but need to submit two different applications.

Please note that if you are interested in both the MBBS and BDS programs, you must apply separately for each.

For MBBS:

Local Applicants: The last date for submission of online applications is Tuesday, 26th December 2023.

Foreign Applicants: The last date for submission of online applications is Friday, 5th January 2024.

For BDS:

Local Applicants: The last date for submission of online applications is Thursday, 4th January 2024.

Foreign Applicants: The last date for submission of online applications is Wednesday, 10th January 2024.
