Sindh Govt Action Against Unauthorized School Fee Increases

The Sindh government has issued a stern directive to private educational institutions, emphasizing the strict enforcement of regulations regarding tuition charges. Recent complaints regarding unapproved financial demands have prompted authorities to remind all private schools that imposing hidden costs or increasing fees without explicit permission is a direct violation of the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Regulation and Control Rules, 2005. This move aims to protect parents from arbitrary financial burdens and ensure that educational costs remain within the framework established by the provincial education department.

 

 

To promote accountability, the Directorate of Private Institutions has mandated that all schools in Sindh must adhere strictly to their approved fee schedules. Institutions are required to display these structures clearly on notice boards and at reception areas to ensure full transparency for families. Furthermore, schools must provide parents with copies of these schedules upon request. Failure to comply with these educational regulatory standards or collecting additional unauthorized charges will be treated as a punishable offense under the Sindh Private Educational Institutions Regulation and Control Ordinance, 2001. The government has made it clear that non-compliant institutions face severe consequences, including the potential suspension or complete cancellation of their registration.

 

 

In conjunction with the fee enforcement, the government has launched a drive to regulate the broader educational landscape. All currently unregistered private schools are required to apply for official status through the governments dedicated online portal within a 15-day window. Institutions that do not meet the mandatory criteria set by the Sindh School Education Department risk closure by district authorities, with provisions in place to relocate affected students to nearby recognized schools. This comprehensive regulatory effort underscores the governments commitment to maintaining quality and fairness in the private education sector across the province.
