KPK Launches Ambitious Plan to Modernize Provincial Education

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP has unveiled a transformative initiative in its 2026-27 budget, proposing a landmark allocation of Rs9.5 billion to overhaul the regional academic landscape. This strategic investment is designed to upgrade 72 existing public schools into international-standard model institutions, signaling a major commitment to elevating the quality of government education in KP.

Transforming Public Schools into Centers of Excellence

The ambitious project targets the conversion of 31 boys schools and 31 girls schools into state-of-the-art facilities. By integrating advanced infrastructure—including modern IT and science laboratories, as well as specialized amenities like swimming pools—the provincial government aims to bridge the gap between public and private sector learning environments. This initiative is a core component of the broader education reform agenda, focusing on providing high-quality, subsidized education that meets global s.

Merit-Based Enrollment and Holistic Student Support

Scheduled to commence in July 2026, this program offers a comprehensive support package for students from grades 6 to 12. Each selected model school will admit 50 academically talented students based strictly on merit. These pupils will benefit from a fully funded educational experience, encompassing free tuition, boarding, nutritious meals, textbooks, and monthly stipends. By prioritizing KPK Boards merit-based admissions 2026 and student welfare programs, the government is ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder the potential of high-achieving youth.

As the project moves toward its projected completion in September 2027, it stands as a testament to the province’s dedication to improving literacy rates and fostering a robust public schooling system. This investment not only enhances academic infrastructure in Pakistan but also reinforces the government’s resolve to provide equitable access to world-class learning opportunities for the next generation.
