HEC Calls for Proposals for Pakistan-France PERIDOT Research Initiative
Higher Education Commission HEC invites faculty members from all public and private universities in Pakistan to apply for the PERIDOT Research Program. This initiative is a collaborative effort between Pakistan and France. The candidates can get the latest updates of HEC Calls for Proposals for Pakistan-France PERIDOT Research Initiative.
Program Overview
PERIDOT, part of the Franco-Pakistani Hubert Curien Partnership PHC Program, promotes collaboration between researchers in Pakistan and France through joint research projects. The HEC manages the program in Pakistan, while in France, it is jointly overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development MAEDI and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research MESRI.
Objective and History
The program aims to enhance scientific and technological cooperation between higher education institutions and research laboratories in both countries by supporting researcher mobility. Since its launch in 2014, the program has completed ten phases, concluding in 2023, with three mobility partnerships approved in the final phase.
Selection Process and Research Areas
PERIDOT awardees will be chosen through a merit-based, independent, and transparent selection process. Research proposals are invited in the following three areas:
- Sustainable Energy, Environment, and Climate Change
- Agriculture, Food Security, and Health
- Humanities and Social Sciences

- The deadline to apply for the program is October 1, 2024.

- Submit a joint project single application on the Campus France website.
- Since the online procedure is in French, applicants should prepare a single joint application in English. The French principal investigator PI will apply on the mentioned website.
- Download the English version of the French online application’s outline here.
Pakistan’s Application Process
- Apply online through the HEC’s online portal.
Upload the previously developed joint application submitted on the Campus France portal in the designated document section.
