FDE School Students Promotion Policy 2023

Federal Directorate of Education has announced the FDE Class 1 to 9 annual exams 2023 promotion policy. FDE has issued the official notification for the class 1 to 2 annual exams and all of the students will be promoted to the next classes after appearing in the exams. The students of the schools located in Islamabad capital territory will get this Good News for School Students from Federal Education Ministry. Now the students of the first and second class will get their promotion regardless of their performance in their annual exams. Now the students of the remaining classes will get the promotion policy.

Class 3 and 4

The students of the third and fourth classes will get their promotion, if they fulfill the following requirements:

Minimum pass percentage in each subject is 40%

Failed in one or two subjects but their overall aggregate is 40% including the marks of the failed subjects.

The students, who will be failed in more than two subjects, they will repeat the class.

Class 5 to 8

The students of the fifth to eights classes will be promoted depending on following subject categories

Class	Category I	Category II
V	English, Mathematics, General Science	Urdu, Islamiat, Social Studies
VI to VIII	English, Mathematics, General Science	Urdu, Islamiat, History, Computer Science, Geography, Elective Subject

The candidates can check the following to view the promotion criteria for class 6 and 7.

Minimum pass percentage in each subject is 40%

Failure in any one subject of any category and at least 20% marks in the failed subject with overall aggregate 40% marks with the failed subjects.

Failed in two subjects, one from each category and secured 20% marks in each subject with overall aggregate 40% marks including failed subjects.

Failed in two subjects of category II but get 20% marks in each failing subject overall aggregate 40% marks along with failed subjects.

The students, who failed in two subjects of category 1, will have to repeat the class.

The promotion criteria for class 5 and 8 is mentioned as following.

Minimum passing percentage for external or centralized exams under FDE, will be 35% for each subject in 2023. Now it will be revised and it is upgraded as 40% in the year of 2024.

The students, who will fulfill the following criteria, they will be promoted to the next class.

The students, who fail in one subject of any category with 20% marks in that subject, but have 40% aggregate marks.

The students fail in two subjects, one from each category with 20% marks in each failing subject and they have 40% aggregate marks.

The students fail in two subjects of category 2 with 20% marks in each failed subject, with aggregate marks of 40%.

The students, who will fail in two subjects of category 1, they will have to repeat the class.

Class 9

The students, who fail in three subjects in Federal Board first annual exams, they will be promoted to class 10 and they will be allowed to appear in FBISE second annual exams for improvement.

The students, who will fail in three subjects in first annual exams, they will be promoted to class 10 and they will be allowed to attend 10th class first annual exams.

Students, who will fail in more than three subjects in the first annual exams, they will repeat their class 9. Such students will be considered as fresh candidates if their result is cancelled.
