Cambridge Exams Cancelled in All of Punjab, Islamabad and Other Cities
Cambridge International Education, in partnership with the British Council and local authorities, has announced the cancellation of all O Level, IGCSE, and AS & A Level exams scheduled for Friday, May 9, in specific parts of Pakistan. This decision affects students in Punjab, Islamabad Capital Territory, Muzaffarabad, and Mirpur due to ongoing security concerns. Cambridge Suspends May 9 Exams in Several Pakistani Regions
The cancellations apply to both Cambridge Direct and British Council-affiliated schools in the specified areas. The safety of students and staff was emphasized as the top priority behind this decision. For exams scheduled on Monday, May 12, schools in these areas will receive further instructions by the evening of Sunday, May 11.
Examinations in other regions of Pakistan on May 9 will continue as planned, unless the security situation worsens. Cambridge has assured that it will continue to assess conditions and provide timely updates as necessary.
To ensure students are not penalized academically, Cambridge has confirmed that alternative assessment methods will be used to fairly determine grades for those affected by the cancellations.
