Winter Vacation Dates for Schools and Colleges in Islamabad and KP
Schools and colleges across Islamabad will be closed for winter break from December 28, 2024, to January 12, 2025, as per the academic calendar for the 2024-25 session. This holiday applies to all institutions under the Federal Directorate of Education FDE, covering both schools and colleges in the city. The two-week break offers a respite for students and staff during the colder months of the year. The latest updates regarding Winter Vacation Dates for Schools and Colleges in Islamabad and KP are shared with the students online.
Purpose of the Winter Break
The winter vacation provides a much-needed opportunity for students to rest and rejuvenate before returning to their academic routine. Educational institutions will resume their regular operations on January 13, 2025, marking the end of the winter break.
Winter Vacation Schedule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In addition to Islamabad, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KP government has also announced its winter vacation schedule for the 2024-25 academic year. According to a notification from the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, the winter break in KP will differ by region:
- Plain Areas: Winter vacation will run from December 22 to December 31, 2024, lasting 10 days.
- Hilly/Snowy Areas: Educational institutions in these areas will observe a longer winter break from December 22, 2024, to February 28, 2025, extending over two months.
