Schools in Punjab were closed on May 25 due to extreme heat, with the summer break scheduled from June 1 to August 14 for both government and private schools.
No Extension Planned for Punjab
According to the latest reports, the Punjab Education Department has no plans to extend the summer holidays. Schools are set to reopen on August 15, 2024.
Potential for Schedule Reassessment
The Punjab government has indicated that they may reconsider the school reopening date based on weather conditions closer to mid-August.
Sindh Extends Summer Holidays
In Sindh, the Education Department extended summer holidays until August 14 due to ongoing heatwaves and anticipated heavy rains. Schools will resume on August 15, with Independence Day activities planned for August 14. The original break was from June 1 to July 31, 2024.
