Weekly School Holiday Decision in Lahore Remains Unchanged
In a recent announcement, the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, has upheld the existing schedule for schools in Lahore, keeping Wednesday as a regular working day. The students can get the latest updates regarding Weekly School Holiday Decision in Lahore Remains Unchanged.
Previously, discussions were underway regarding the possibility of declaring an additional weekly holiday due to concerns over the high levels of smog in the city. However, with improvements in the Air Quality Index AQI, the government has decided against implementing the change.
CM Mohsin Naqvi shared the decision on social media, stating that he had convened a crucial meeting with his cabinet members to make the determination. He emphasized that, based on the improved Air Quality Index, Wednesday would continue to be a standard workday.
Additionally, the authorities have taken proactive measures to combat air pollution in Lahore. The Secretary of Transport, district administration, and the Police are actively addressing pollution sources, demonstrating their vigilance in maintaining control over the Air Quality Index.
Furthermore, stringent warnings have been issued to factories, urging them to adhere to prescribed emission limits and to refrain from burning tires. In a bid to tackle the problem of crop residue burning, Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to take action against those responsible.
To ensure the availability of high-quality, low-emission fuels to the public, Mohsin Naqvi has imposed strict measures to curb the sale of substandard fuel. Simultaneously, the construction industry has been provided with guidelines aimed at mitigating smog levels, including the requirement to cover sand and gravel and to continuously damp construction sites.
