USAID Scholarships for Students Affected by Floods

In response to the devastating floods that wreaked havoc in Pakistan last year, USAID has taken a significant step to aid students from flood-affected regions. These floods not only ravaged infrastructure but also threatened the educational pursuits of countless students. Recognizing the dire need for assistance, USAID has introduced a merit and needs-based scholarship initiative, which has been supporting financially disadvantaged students since 2004. This program aims to provide much-needed relief to flood-affected students by granting scholarships for two semesters in thirty partner universities. The latest updates of USAID Scholarships for Students Affected by Floods are shared online for the comfort of the candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Flood-Affected Students

To qualify for the Undergraduate Scholarships for Flood-Affected Students, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Enrolled in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or 7th semester of a four/five-year undergraduate degree program during the Fall 2023 term.

• All academic disciplines and subjects are eligible.

• Belong to districts/sub-districts/UC Tehsils that were adversely impacted by the floods as identified by the Government of Pakistan/PDMA/District Administration.

• Provide credible evidence of flood-related damage, such as household and livelihood impacts. Fictitious images sourced from the internet will not be accepted.

• Shortlisted candidates will undergo interviews conducted by the Universitys Institutional Scholarship Award Committee to assess eligibility for financial assistance.

• Half of the scholarships are reserved for female candidates.

Scholarship Coverage

The scholarship encompasses the following provisions:

• Tuition Fee coverage for two consecutive semesters, including Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.

• Stipend to cover Boarding & Lodging, Transportation, and other Academic Costs over the same two semesters.

Application Procedure

Prospective applicants should adhere to the following application steps:

• Apply via the HEC Online Application System.

• Print and submit the application form, accompanied by supporting documentation, to the student financial aid offices of their respective universities.

• Ensure the form is meticulously completed, as incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Important Notes

• Scholarships will be allocated based on merit, and HEC retains the right to revoke the award if provided information is found to be false during physical verification.

• Students in self-sustain/self-support/self-finance programs, evening classes with higher fees, two-year bachelors, associate, or lateral degree programs are ineligible.
