US Teacher Training Program for Pakistani English Educators
Are you a dedicated English teacher employed in a Pakistani government school or foundation-run secondary school? The Teaching Excellence and Achievement TEA program is offering a fully funded exchange program to the United States. This program is designed to enhance the skills and expertise of 50 English teachers in a six-month training program.
"Announcing the TEA Program 2023"
The Regional English Language Office RELO Pakistan, U.S. Embassy, in partnership with Vision-Building Future and the University of Nebraska at Omaha, is thrilled to introduce the Pakistan Teaching Excellence and Achievement TEA Program for 2023. This initiative provides an extraordinary opportunity for in-service Pakistani secondary school English language teachers to participate in a six-week academic program at a U.S. university.
"Eligibility Criteria for the TEA Program"
To be eligible for the Teaching Excellence & Achievement TEA Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be citizens and current residents of Pakistan
- Currently teaching English at the secondary level grades 6-10
- Employed full-time in a government or foundation school
- Working in a school serving a primarily local not expatriate population
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferably in an English-related subject
- Have a minimum of two years of teaching experience
- Demonstrate a commitment to continue teaching in Pakistan for at least five years after completing the program

Participants in the TEA program will enjoy a range of benefits, including:

- J-1 visa support
- Pre-departure orientation in Pakistan
- Round-trip airfare and in-country travel within the U.S.
- A warm welcome workshop at the University of Nebraska, Omaha
- Coverage of tuition and program fees
- Shared housing with program fellows of the same gender, as well as meals
- Accident and sickness medical coverage excluding pre-existing conditions
- Transportation to the practicum school if required
- A memorable trip to Washington, D.C.
- A re-entry seminar in Pakistan
- An opportunity to apply for alumni grants

Applicants will need to submit the following documents:
- Completed application form
- Institutional Support and Reference Form included in the application
- Privacy Policy and Application Certification Statement included in the application
- Copies of the most recent academic transcripts and degrees
- Copy of Computerized National Identity Card CNIC
