UoK Postgraduate Programs Admissions 2026

The University of Karachi, a premier institution dedicated to higher education, research, and academic excellence, has officially announced its KU Postgraduate Admissions 2026. With 56 teaching departments and 21 research centers, the university serves a vibrant community of approximately 50,000 students, offering a wide array of advanced postgraduate degree programs including MPhil, ME, MS, LLM, PhD, MSSurgery, MDMedicine, and MDS Master of Dental Surgery.

Diverse Faculty and Research Opportunities

Karachi University invites applications across several renowned faculties, providing a comprehensive spectrum of research-oriented studies. Key faculties include:

Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Science, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Management & Administrative Sciences, Education, and Islamic Studies.

In addition to departmental programs, specialized MPhil and PhD research is conducted at prestigious centers such as the Dr. A. Q. Khan Institute of Biotechnology & Genetic Engineering, the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research, and the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, among others.

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Enrollment

Prospective candidates must meet specific academic requirements based on their chosen field:

MPhil, ME & MS With Course Work: Applicants typically require at least sixteen years of education e.g., MA, MLIS, MSc, MBA, B-Pharm, MBBS, or BS/BE Engineering with at least a second division from an HEC-recognized institution.

Clinical Programs MS Surgery, MD Medicine, MDS: Candidates must hold an MBBS or BDS degree from a recognized university, supplemented by one year of house job with valid PMDC registration.

PhD: Requires an MPharm, MPhil, or MBA with a 4-year BBA or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.

LLM: Applicants need at least sixteen years of studies, specifically a BA.LLB/LLB, with at least a 55 percent aggregate or a minimum CGPA of 3.00.

Application and Examination Roadmap

To apply for these advanced academic programs, candidates should strictly follow the official guidelines:

Download the prospectus and entrance test forms from the official University of Karachi website beginning June 29, 2026.

Submit the duly completed entrance test form and non-refundable fee voucher to the respective departments by July 08, 2026.

The mandatory Karachi University PhD & M.Phil Entrance Test 2026 is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

Eligible candidates must collect their admit cards from their respective departments between July 23 and July 24, 2026. The final list of successful candidates will be announced on August 02, 2026.
